8th Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing in Abu Dhabi between 22th and 24th November 2010

The 8th Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing (8th GCSM 2010) will be held at the Abu Dhabi University Khalifa City Campus and Masdar Institute of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi during November 22-24, 2010. The conference is expected to attract representatives from science and industry from several regions of the world to the United Arabic Emirates (UAE). It serves as a forum for research institutes and industrial partners related to the area of sustainable manufacturing. It enables them to get an overview on today’s challenges and the national and international research and development activities to meet those in the region. Discussions and the sharing of experiences are highly welcomed. The conference offers keynote speeches, panel discussions, parallel sessions, a poster forum and a journal for awarded papers.
 
This eighth global conference on sustainable manufacturing supported by the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) shall be a follow-up to previous conferences held at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India in December 2009, Pusan National University, Korea in October 2008, at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, USA in September 2007, at University of Sao Paulo, Brazil in October 2006, at Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China in October 2005, at Technical University, Berlin, Germany in September 2004, as well as the Environmentally Benign Manufacturing workshop held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, in January 2003.
 
The Conference includes topics as:  Value adding by sustainable manufacturing in the UAE, potentials of renewable, education for sustainability engineering, green supply chain and transportation, microelectronics and resource efficiency, technology driven startups, sustainable products and manufacturing processes.
 
Abstract submission and registration are done online, via the Conference website. Deadlines:
·         June 30th, 2010            –          Abstract submission
·         July 15th, 2010             –          Notification of abstract acceptance
·         August 15th, 2010        –          Full paper submission
·         Sept. 15th, 2010           –          Notification of paper acceptance
·         Oct. 1st, 2010               –          Submission of final paper
·         Oct. 1st, 2010               –          Registration for conference
