The meeting will be held in Brisbane, Australian during February 7~9, 2006 with agendas of review and approval of two new members, WTA budget proposal for the Fiscal Year of 2006 and planning of the 5th WTA General Assembly issues.
This year is especially meaningful in that full-scale assistance in the amount of USD 140,000 from UNESCO through KOICA(Korea International Cooperation Agency) is being started arranging 5 years starting January 2006~December 2010.
Last year WTA has been awarded US$ 10,000 from UNESCO to hold the UNESCO-WTA Workshop on Science City Governance during November 1~7. 2005 in Dajeon City. It was sucessfully finished with the participation of 54 persons, 28 cities of 17 countries focusing on the development strategies of the science cities.
Presently WTA has the 49 memberships from 18 countries. It will make 51 memberships from 19 countries when the WTA EBM approves the two applicants, the City of Windhoek, Namibia and Konglin Science Park, Chinese Taipei.
WTA also at this time inform to all the members that the 5th WTA General Assembly to he held in Brisbane this year July 27~28 with the theme of "Smart Cities ensure Smart Future".
