2015 Daejeon Global Innovation Forum finished in success
2015 Daejeon Global Innovation Forum – In Celebration of 70th Anniversary of UNESCO
The 2015 Daejeon Global Innovation Forum was held with the theme “Sharing Innovations’ Benefits” on 23rd and 24th September 2015 in Daejeon Metropolitan City, Republic of Korea. It was the second time following to its inauguration in 2014, and it was ended in a great success with the participation of 1,800 people from 40 countries all around the globe. This year, the Forum was organized in association with 2015 UNESO-WTA International Training Workshop, 12th WTA Daejeon Hi-Tech Fair & Business Conference and the 2nd International Nano Industrial City Forum & Exhibition.
2015 DGIF was consisted of the keynote speech by Prof. Sung-Mo Kang, the President of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and Mr. Victor W. Hwang, the Co-Founder and CEO of T2 Venture Creation who is well known for the author of “The Rainforest”, 3 plenary sessions, 2 thematic special sessions and the round table meeting.
One of the most important thing to focus on is, this year, 3 organizations were participated as the hosting organization of the thematic special sessions. For the thematic special session A, Sejong Center for Creative Economy and Innovation and SK Telecom Co., Ltd in the republic of Korea were participated discussing on “Technology Convergence: Smart Farm”. Currently they are actively conducting the Smart Farm project in Korea so they could introduce the practical cases. The Sharing the Technologies Incorporated in the Republic of Korea was joined to the thematic special session B with the topic “Appropriate (Grassroots) Technology Innovation in Developing Countries”. They are one the most active organization in the field of grassroots technology in the Republic of Korea, and with the participation of their Austrian partner, the session was full of real experiences.
At the round table meeting, which is the wrap-up session of the Forum, the 2015 Daejeon Global Innovation Forum Communiqué was adopted with the agreement of 20 panelists from 13 countries and 77 observers. Through the Communiqué, we are expecting to develop the model of Korean innovation platform “Center for Creative Economy and Innovation” and assist the developing countries to establish the regional innovation system based on the Korean model.
The 2016 Global Innovation Forum will be held on 21st to 23rd September 2016 in South Tangerang City, Indonesia with the theme “Local Sustainable Development” in association with the 10th WTA General Assembly. We are all waiting for your continuous support and contribution as always.
