2012 UNESCO-WTA International Training Wprkshop
Valorization : Tangible benefits from S&T parks
From 14th to 17th November, 2012, UNESCO-WTA International Training Workshop was held in Daejeon, Korea in cooperation with UNESCO and World Technopolis Association (WTA). Since 2005, the workshop has been annually held as a capacity building activity for the STPs managers, researchers and government officers to practically support the establishment of STPs and TBIs especially in developing countries.
This year’s workshop took place under the theme “Valorization: Tangible benefits from S&T parks”, and 104 representatives of STPs, government bodies and institutes from 32 countries like Indonesia, Egypt, Iran, and Nigeria came to join the workshop and had the opportunity to learn, discuss and exchange about the current issues on technology commercialization, entrepreneurship development, support systems and development strategies.
As not only Asian region like Mongolia, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia but also European region like Belarus, Hungary and African region like Nigeria, Tanzania, Zimbabwe actively participated the workshop, the UNESCO-WTA International Training Workshop proved its reputation as the leading capacity building workshop for STPs managers all over the world. Furthermore, the workshop provided an opportunity to re-unit of alumni as many existed participants joined again, and to expand and strengthen the cooperative networks among all participants.
