
Global Innovation Forum adopts 2017 Daejeon Communiqué
(Daejeon, Republic of Korea, 13 September 2017) - Co-chairs of the Global Innovation Forum, UNESCO and WTA, adopted the 2017 Daejeon Communiqué that shapes a framework for promoting innovation in science & technology as well as collaborative partnership.

The
Global Innovation Forum adopted 2017 Daejeon Communiqué that puts forward a
guideline for all innovation actors in the global society. On 11 - 13 September
2017, with a broad audience of 500 participants from 23 countries, the Global
Innovation Forum provided an arena for discussion on collaborative innovation
& smart infrastructure in the era of technology convergence. Three special
thematic sessions, namely: Technopolis for all ages; Woman in innovation; and Science
City Forum extended a range of discussion to different fields and provided
diverse perspectives on innovation. At the roundtable meeting, all speakers and panelists gathered around and adopted the 2017 Daejeon Communiqué. The Communiqué
revealed following noteworthy agenda: - Active
involvement in global cooperative activities to actualize sustainable growth is
essential; - An ecosystem
that supports collaborative innovation activities and a sustainable policy
framework in a global context is needed; and - Key
elements including smart environment, living, mobility, people, economy and
governance are important to establish smart city infrastructure for all ages.
The
Communiqué also urged for a need of developing the implementation plans at the
upcoming forum in 2018.
